Released in April 2020, just weeks into Italy's first hard lockdown, Social Distance is John
Debowie's debut as JDREC. Six short tracks tracing the texture of confinement — each named after a fragment
of the language that suddenly defined daily life: Pandemic, Lockdown, Quarantine, Asintomatic,
Isolation, Intensive Terapie.
From the artist's own notes: «Locked in the house to fight the virus, thoughts fly and crash on the
window panes, blocked by the invisible rogue. How long can you stop me? How long can you keep the waves of
my mind?» The album sits between dungeon synth, early 8-bit textures, and tape ambient — 19 minutes
that carry the weight of those months without ever raising their voice.
